Hello Portrait Project friends,

Remember that day when we sat down together and made paintings? I do.

I’ve been having the best time revisiting that mental/emotional space as I prepare the project archive to share publicly for the first time as a body of work. Yes. Stop the World/Melt with You: The Reciprocal Portrait Project will be up at Mt. Airy Art Garage in Philadelphia this fall, running September 25 through October 5.

I’m so proud of this project and all of you for your openness and bravery in participating. I hope you will be able to come and see the show. All the details below, but first, a few business items.

1. Is it okay for me to include our pair of portraits in this inaugural show?

2. Is it okay for me to use your name (or, alternately, your initials) to identify our pair of portraits in a map/key posted in the gallery?

3. After the show comes down, I will be ready to disseminate all unsold* work. Do you wish to own the pair of portraits we created together?

*Per Mt. Airy Art Garage's requirements, all work in the show will be for sale. Portraits will be sold by the pair for $30 during the show. If you would like to reserve the pair of portraits we made together (that is, to be certain that no one else buys them during the show), or if you would just like to give financial support to MAAG, this show, and the Reciprocal Portrait Project, please make a donation! A contribution of $10.50 will cover the percentage due to MAAG on the sale of a portrait pair. MAAG is a non-profit community arts organization and, you know, could use the financial support. Any contribution over $10.50 will go towards my costs in putting the show together and keeping the project afloat. I am also a non-profit entity (not officially, but you know) and could use the financial support. HOWEVER, if you are a risk-taker, no contribution is required! If our portrait pair is unsold at the end of the show, I will be happy to GIVE it to you.

Please respond to shannoncroninart@gmail.com (or via text!) with the solicited information! And with any additional questions/concerns!

If I don't hear anything from you, I will assume:

1. It's ok to use our portrait pair in the show;

2. It's ok to use your name; and

3. You would like me to keep our portrait pair as part of the project archive.

THANK YOU!!
